Log Home Modern Addition

We fell in love with a modest log home that represented decades of family memories in this personalized remodel. Saving the original log home meant adding an addition that was almost equal in size, but somehow complementary to the original. Our solution is a minimal design addition with a clear connection piece. This addition looks and feels different from the original. Architecturally, the addition acts like a younger cousin to the log home – but still family. The owners can continue to cherish the original log structure for future generations, and take photographs in the same old family photo spots. Additional updates include windows, lighting, and photovoltaics for energy performance. A detached garage completes the functional space additions for these long time Aspen residents.
