Job Opportunities

Although we are not actively hiring, we are always interested in connecting with potential colleagues. We will make an effort to find a place for a person who is a great fit for our team. We also occasionally work with folks on a contract basis, so there are possibilities that ebb and flow. If you’d like to send an inquiry our way, we can let you know more up to date information on hiring/staffing today. Write us a note at employment@landandshelter.com

For potential candidates – Our office is in Carbondale, Colorado and we work a hybrid of in office and home days. We give a strong preference to Carbondale-area local candidates, although for the perfect teammate, remote elsewhere in the state of Colorado is a possibility. No out of state applications will be reviewed, no exceptions.

We’re excited to bring new members into our new studio space and work together in a regular charrette approach to design. We combine hand sketching, Sketchup, Revit, and Lumion in our production workflow, and we expect folks to be competent in these programs.

We are looking for folks who want to draw and brainstorm and solve problems together. We’re hopeful we can find a person who loves those things.

Scheduled working hours are expected although the specific hours of the day are flexible. We make reasonable allowances for parenting, personal time, powder days, and long weekends. Active community engagement and nonprofit participation outside of work hours is encouraged, and we offer paid time off to encourage community engagement. Land+Shelter offers competitive salaries, commensurate to AIA compensation averages. The benefits package includes standard vacation and medical, plus overtime, community service paid time off, sick pay, continuing education, and a 401k matching benefit.

Send resume, portfolio, cover letter, and at least two recent references to employment@landandshelter.com. Note: Applicants sending work examples without collecting them into a portfolio format will not be considered.
