Colorado Mountain College Teaching Kitchen

The Colorado Mountain College Teaching Kitchen is a new-build addition to the CMC Aspen Campus building originally designed by Harry Teague Architects. The teaching kitchen is designed to offer a bright, centrally located kitchen for use as a traditional classroom for college students and as a continuing education space for locals. It will be utilized for seminars of the iconic Aspen Food&Wine festival each June. Located just off the lobby, the teaching kitchen is visible and prominent for anyone entering the campus. Wine tasting? Right this way.

Architecturally, this project works to quietly occupy formerly underused space and “follow the thought” of the original building. While some additions might aim for a separate identity, these rooms are conceived as infill, and they are designed as a natural evolution of the original.
