Basalt Early Childhood Center with Alan Ford Architects

Land+Shelter is partnered with AFA in the design of an early childhood education building in the Willits development, which is part of Basalt, Colorado. The original client for the project was the Town of Basalt, although we have transitioned to working with the provider – Little Blue Preschool, as well.

Our program includes an early childhood education center and affordable housing on a transitional lot within the Willits Center development. The parcel borders a single-family residential neighborhood. As such, our design seeks to bridge the gap architecturally between multi-story commercial on one side with that single family scale building on the other side.
